In the small forgotten city Aub, convenient to the Gollach, stands our "brauerei- und taferngerechtsame Schenkstatt
zum Lamm", as it is called in the old books.
The history of our house is closely connected with the history of the house Weinsberg, as the crest above the house entrance proves.
In the year 1404, Konrad von Weinsberg and the Truchsessen from Baldersheim, to which in each case Aub belonged to the half, received from king Ruprecht the permission to transfrom Aub into a city, i.e. to surround it with a wall and to hold markets.
Because the army and trade route Frankfurt-Nürnberg-Augsburg led through Aub, it had become a commercial centre.
Philip the senior (der Ältere) -- son from second marriage of Konrad von Weinsberg -- inherited the realm coins and the regions lying convenient to the castle Reigelsberg. Residing on castle Reigelsberg, he built the Auber city hall and 1493 the guesthouse "to the lamb" ("zum Lamm" - our house). When he died, the Würzburg prince-bishop received the Auber possessions.
The eventful history of this house with noble guests, as a carriage station at the army route Frankfurt-Aub-Nürnberg-Augsburg and the numerous markets held in Aub show that in our house regaling and accommodation have a long tradition. The wooden pavement blocks in the gate passage, over which the carriages drove into the backyard, is just as preserved as the toasts at the wall in our historical guest room and the distinctive external facade.
You will surely feel comfortable as well inside the old raised walls like already many generations before you!
